”Reconstruction of an Evening”

Live painting on the illustration created for the IKEA Festival at the IKEA Roma Anagnina store.

For the IKEA Festival — a global event celebrating better everyday living through music, food, design, and creativity — IKEA opened its doors both online and in stores worldwide. On September 16, 2021, the festival took place in more than 100 homes across over 50 markets.

With Reconstruction of an Evening, I gave form to my personal sense of home. The work unfolds from a dining room — a space traditionally linked to gathering, sharing, and conversation — transforming it into a stage for connection.

“Welcome is the word that best describes my idea of home: a home that is open not only in the way its spaces are arranged and lived in, but above all open to others — to encounter, exchange, and listening. Home includes and blends, weaving together the lives of those who inhabit it with those who, even if only passing through for a single evening, enrich a place that awaits us every day — each day slightly different.”
